A Christmas note from the Pastor's Desk!
Well, folks, it's that time of year again when all the excitement of the season begins. A time to put up trees, decorate the house, inside and out of course. But it also seems to be a time when people see the worst of life, either by losing a loved one, not liking their life where it is, etc...
Yet why wait until this time of year to get down and discouraged? We have truly lost the meaning of Christmas and all that surrounds this time in our lives. We need to refocus what we put our values in, stop and think a bit about why we are here!
We need to see the precious and priceless meaning of Christmas in a spiritual reality! We need to see the true meaning of Christmas and the gift we have received! We need to see ourselves as special in the eyes of God and the love He has shown by sending His Son for us!
Yet we see our lives as tangled and twisted with not much purpose. That is where we miss so much and see so little. We need to stop and think about even the most minute things in our lives are gifts. We need to stop and remember the joy we once experienced this time of year and why!
We miss the meaning of Christmas because we get caught up in the fast pace of life! We jump right into the world and join in. We get caught up in the glitter being mesmerized by the flash and attraction to those things that only bring temporary satisfaction!
We need to regain our sight and misplaced values and place them back to where they belong, family! Place our values on the things that last and the memories we share. Those things money cannot buy, love, time, and sharing the true gift of Christmas, Jesus!
So this year change just one thing about yourself and the way you see life! We need not think of life as loved ones lost, but memories gained! Stop and take a moment to just be grateful for what you have, little or much, be grateful!
Think about what God gave us as His gift of love. Jesus His Son to take our place becoming sin when He knew no sin to make us righteous before God! That is the meaning of Christmas! So as we come to this Christmas season remember how special you truly are and thank God for all you have!
Merry Christmas from Pastor Randy and Karen Scott
